Meetings and Events for Saturday, August 31, 2024
Description: This talk will walk authors through the steps to prepare their manuscript for submission to print-on-demand companies. Discussions will include page formatting, setting font styles, headers, front and end pages, and adding pictures. Examples will use Microsoft Word for building/formatting the manuscript and Amazon’s KDP for self-publication. We will also touch briefly on how to create and access a KDP account on Amazon, adding a book cover to your submissions, and the changes required for ebook submission.
Bio: Brad has been writing since he was nine years old and joined Saturday Writers in 2011. Since then he has served in several positions at Saturday Writers, including terms as Contest Chair, President, and co-Director of Saturday Writers. Brad began editing the annual Anthology in 2013 while it was still known as the Cuivre River Anthology published by High Hill Press. When the group decided to self-publish the book in 2015, Brad took over formatting and publishing the books through CreateSpace. When CreateSpace was bought by Amazon, the books were moved to Amazon’s KDP, where they are published to this day. Brad has helped many of the Saturday Writers to publish their own books, and hopes to keep up that trend.
