Meetings and Events for Saturday, September 28, 2024
Description: Most people think that the three-act structure is something familiar to film, but it can actually be applied to any type of writing, from novels and non-fiction, to memoirs and documentaries. Using structural elements from Save the Cat!, we will look at ways to take our characters through the three "worlds" in a story to deliver a character who transforms by the end.
Bio: Cory Milles is a writer who focuses on young adult novels and screenplays. He is especially interested in telling stories that focus on character transformation. He regularly works with Save the Cat!, the #1 best-selling book series on screenwriting and novel writing, doing script and novel consultations as well as writing for their weekly blog. When he's not teaching or writing, he can be found building Star Wars droids with his 3D printers or listening to movie scores.
