Meetings and Events for Saturday, February 22, 2025
Description: When writers talk about character development and character arcs, what do they really mean? In this presentation/discussion, we will examine a number of ways in which writers conceptualize character issues, from motivation to dimension and tension, conflict and development. We will also discuss how to deploy these concepts on the page and in a variety of forms, considering how writers of essays, short stories, novels, and even poems might consider character and bring the people—and other creatures—of their work to deepest, vibrant life on the page.
